The most prestigious Tour is ongoing.... the European Backgammon Tour" (EBGT).

Over 700,000 USD were redistributed to the winners in 2008.

Season III - 2009 will feature 4 stops and pay an estimated overall prize exceeding 1,000,000 USD.

The 5 stops, all "added prize tournaments", are:

• Portuguese Open, Estoril, Portugal, May 14th to 17th

• Georgian Open, Tbilisi, Georgia, July 29th to August 5th

• French Open, Enghien-les-Bains (Paris), France, October 27th to November 1st

• Venice International Tournament, Venice, Italy, November 26th to 29th

Each round you win in the Champions Division will contribute to your masterpoints. The length of the match you won is the number of masterpoints you will receive, no matter if main, consolation or last chance round.

The winner of each stop will be granted a free seat in the next stop of the EBGT.

10% of the added prize of each stop will go towards the prize-pool of the EBGT: The overall winners of the EBGT will share a minimum of 10,000 €uro at the end of the season (60% for winner, 30% for second place and 10% for the third placed player). The © "Golden Cube",a wandering prize, will remain at WBA offices and the "European Master" will figure on a plate below the trophy.
